Fashion and Film: Padme Amidala

I don't talk about it much, but underneath this girly, vintage exterior is a scifi nerd. I love Star Wars and I adore Padme Amidala's lovely costumes! Regardless of your opinions on I-III vs. IV-VI, the original trilogy is sadly lacking in fashion.

I love that they chose red and gold! A queen needs statement pieces!

I love the domes on the skirt!

The Asian inspiration here is lovely!

And I think it's awesome that her hair is fan shaped.

More Eastern inspiration in this outfit.

Who needs a hat when you have this many feathers!

This is one of my favorite costumes from Episode I. I love the graceful petals.

I thought the costumes from Episode II and III were less spectacular but there were still some lovelies such as this ombre gown.

This evening gown fits more in with our idea of modern futuristic fashion. Just goes to show you what a fabulous necklace can do!

Her wedding gown was covered with gorgeous lace! I wasn't to excited about the head piece though. I think I'd rather have seen a fabulous Amidala hair do.

This gown shows much more of a European influence. It's the hair that makes it really futuristic.

I love the grey color palette here.

This lovely would not be out of place in a fantasy Medieval/Renaissance movie.

What's your favorite scifi film for yummy costumes?
