86th week of IAW auctions (auctions ending October 10th)
While this is the 86th week of auctions, It is titled Week 95 to be consistent with the Star Trek Auctions Archive.
There were 87 items this week and IAW saw its best week in two months. 8 items topped $ 1,000, and the auctions totaled $ 45,891, IAW's best week in 4 months.
The Costumes
It was a big week for costumes as we had what wound up being the second highest priced costume yet behind the Kirk EV Suit from The Motion Picture.
The Montgomery Scott Starfleet Uniform was indeed a great one! (Dom has hinted there is a Kirk coming). Forum member Brett Leggett won this after battling it out with another forum member. IAW did a commendable job putting the pieces of this costume together and detailing its history. At $ 11,720, it certainly was a lot to spend, but not unrealistic for such an important costume. Sadly, it doesn't come with a Starfleet badge. Fortunately, the new Rod.com versions are made by the original vendor, and are dead on.
Seven of Nine's Space Suit went very strong at $ 6,256. It had no helmet, but was complete other than that it seems. This space suit was introduced in First Contact and then used throughout Voyager. They are pretty cool. I think a Space Suit is top of the costume pyramid and so if you can get a good one, they are well worth it.
The Terran Empire MACO Uniform went for $ 2,926, which was about right. These are pretty popular and we haven't seen one in many months. This one didn't have the back pack (Not a big deal in my book), but of course came with all the weapons and tools. Very cool.
The TNG Professor Data from "All Good Things.." was a good deal at $ 1,025. This is such a memorable episode and so this costume is a good one and well priced.
Finally, at $ 637, I think the Dr. Thomas Leighton Costume Jacket from "Concious of the King" was a steal. Now the jacket might not be very interesting, but any item from TOS is a worthy addition to anyone's collection.
The Props:
My good buddy Anthony won the Enterprise NX-01 Engineering Tools from Daedalus. I know he really wanted this and it is pretty cool. The case had lots of cool props in it and was used multiple times in the show. At $ 2,325 it went strong.
The functional Nemesis Reman Rifle went about right at $ 1,650.
I got outbid on the Klingon Pain Stick at $ 1,247, which went for more than any of the previous ones did. This is a cool piece, and certainly worth the winning bid.
The TNG/Voyager style Engineering LCARS went for a strong $ 1,030. This was pretty non-descript, so I think that is high, but these are pretty popular and iconic in their style.
Degra's Ship Console from "The Council" went at a very reasonable $ 833. When you can get a full console under $ 1,000, I think you have gotten a good deal. Shipping will be several hundred, but well worth it.
