59th week of IAW auctions (auctions ending February 29th)
While this is the 59th week of auctions, It is titled Week 63 to be consistent with the Star Trek Auctions Archive.
The Feature Film Style Maroon Commander's Uniform at $ 3,325 was a good deal for a desirable costume. My good UK buddy (and Picard look alike) Giles won this one and was very happy with it as he should be. The velcro for the badge is unique, and this one has Admiral's pants and a belt. The inside of the jacket is tan, and if it had been white I would have gone after it myself! :-)
The DS9 Dr. Bashir Season Four costume went for $ 1,825 and came with boots. Hero costumes go in the $ 1,500-$ 1,800 range, so this was pretty fair. I don't think this style is as popular or desireable as the black and gray style, but still very cool.
The Nemesis Data Stunt Uniform at $ 1,603 was fairly priced as well. I think the black and grays look great in operations gold and this one looks sharp. These look great when you display them and everyone should get one!
The TNG Klingon Robe at $ 1,371 seemed a little high to me, then I was told by my friend Lyn that it was General Chang's from Star Trek VI and I am most impressed!!! Checking the screen caps, I see she is right! So very sharp eyes Lynn!
The Admiral Kirk Away Team Jacket was nice, though unfinished. It was listed as Star Trek II, but was actually from The Motion Picture. At $ 1,136 it was a good deal and if dyed tan like in the movies, will make a nice display piece.
The Star Trek III Vulcan Hand Maiden costume went for $ 1,102. That price was really for the excellent jewelry which was very cool.
We have seen plenty of Feature Style Starfleet Trainee uniform before. This one was complete with the exception of the belt and sold for $ 988. A fair price I think. The fabric from these uniforms are heavy and these display well.
The Star Trek: TMP Class A Sciences uniform was a beauty and at $965 a good deal.
The Star Trek V: Starfleet Commando Boots went very high at $ 910. Yes, these are incredibly rare and very cool, but a bit high. If you needed these to complete a costume, then it was probably worth it.
As far as props go:
The TNG Medical Travel Kit at $ 1,575 was a beauty. I think a lot of people were interested in this and it went for a great price. The fact that important and interesting props are going around $ 1,500 is another sign of how prices are dropping. This was a $ 3,000 prop last year.
The Enterprise Dr. Soong Lesson PADD at $ 695 went pretty reasonably. I don't think this was a particularly interesting PADD, but it is important, and the text on the PADD is cool.
The Enterprise Vulcan "Stone of J'Kah" at $ 668 was a really great deal. This was an important prop in the episode and so I think my buddy Jordino got a great deal.
I wasn't crazy about the Star Trek Transponder Telemetry PADD as it had a paper graphic on it. Plus, there are so many PADD's out there (Mike Moore from HMS said there were probably over 1,000 made over the years) that I don't see spending $ 632 on one with a paper graphic.
